DEAD ENDS by Tront

DEAD ENDS is a free top-down co-op zombie escape game you play in the browser. Four survivors push through five hand-built chapters, from a transit depot to a burning block, against hordes that arrive in the hundreds. The goal of every chapter is the same: get everyone alive to the safehouse and close the red door behind you. Downed teammates can be revived, closed doors can be reopened, and a survivor who bleeds out outside is left behind, Left 4 Dead style.

Play solo with three AI squadmates that plan with a GOAP planner instead of following you around, or play online. PLAY ONLINE drops you into a public squad in one click, and private rooms use a five-letter code or an invite link. Netcode is peer to peer over WebRTC with a host-authoritative simulation, so there is no account and no server to keep alive. Infected have senses: a shot alerts the ones nearby, idle infected wander and investigate, and the Director adds pressure on top.

The whole game is one HTML file with Canvas 2D rendering, procedural art and audio, persistent blood and bodies, and an AI Director that paces the waves. It was built by Tront (Trent Sterling), a network programmer and Unity generalist, as part of a run of browser games made with AI coding tools and shipped in public.
