See where your disk space went. SpaceView by Tront (Trent Sterling) is a modern SpaceMonger clone built in Rust + egui: fast, tiny, themeable, and actually useful.
Captured from the native SpaceView v0.16.2 app using a synthetic filesystem fixture. These show the actual interface, with no personal filenames.
Everything you need to find what's eating your disk, nothing you don't.
Squarified treemap algorithm packs folders and files into nested rectangles proportional to their size. Big files jump out immediately.
Repeat NTFS scans reuse a saved folder plan and check current file metadata. Changed folders get fresh reads. Incomplete change history triggers a full scan.
Click to zoom into any folder. Smooth interpolation with zoom clamping from 1x to 5000x. Right-click or breadcrumbs to go back.
The treemap fills as files arrive, with live progress and working Pause, Resume and Cancel controls. Explore folders while the scan continues.
Stronger text contrast, outlined buttons and clear focus states across dark and light themes. Tile labels fit the space available.
One 7.8 MB executable. No installer or separate runtime. Download it and run it.
The classic treemap algorithm splits a rectangle into sub-rectangles proportional to file sizes. The "squarified" variant optimizes the aspect ratios so you get fat squares instead of thin slivers - much easier to read and click. Each depth level nests inside its parent, so the spatial hierarchy matches your actual folder structure.
After a complete NTFS scan, SpaceView saves a compact traversal plan. On the next scan, it checks the Windows change journal and reads current file identities, sizes and timestamps before publishing the result. If the cache cannot be verified, it scans normally. Right-click Rescan to choose a Full scan at any time.
Native Rescan test: the folder structure was reused and all 2,003 files received current metadata checks. Scan times depend on your disk and folder structure.
Treemap, file list, largest files, extension totals and duplicates.
Passing Rust checks for scanning, layout and cache validation.
Native filesystem cases checked against fresh scans.
No installer, no runtime dependencies. Just a single executable.
Download the Windows executable and run it. No installation needed. Release notes and the SHA-256 checksum are available on GitHub.
